Be a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and MMA Kindergartener
Many of you who who tune into www.gracie-jiu-jitsu.com, www.connecticutmma.net, and www.ctmma.org, or who are members in Royce Gracie Jiu Jitsu New England and have been to my house, know what my neighborhood is like; we often sit at the fire together, break bread together, and conjure up another adventure. There is a great sense of community in my neighborhood. Its not always perfect. However, even the imperfections seem to have their rightful place. Last Monday was Labor Day and the Hall family hosted an ice cream social honoring the start of school. All the kids were excited about their new school clothes and seeing friends after a nice summer. Most of the adults we’re excited too.
We are so used to starting something new in September. “Anything we practice gets stronger,” is a basic truth that forms who we are. So you may find yourself wanting to restart and learn new things lately.
Right now is a great time to get rejuvenated in jiu jitsu, and to rededicate yourself to the practice. If you are thinking about something new try cross-location-training or taking a private with one of our great coaches. Maybe wear a gi to work. Tell em I sent you. Ill write a note if you need it “the bearer of this note must wear kimono and nothing but kimono, he/she is crazy, crazy about life.”
If you have a friend thinking about it then bring him or her in. Ask em “you wanna rrrrastle.” Royce Gracie Jiu Jitsu is just what the doctor ordered, especially right now when everyone is thinking about going back to school and learning something new and making new friends. While you’re at it, put on your calendar “Train with Legendary Royce Gracie November 15, 16, 17.” More details to follow.
Return to school. Come back to beginners mind. Come back to your true self.
To your success in all you do and who you are, and in your success in Royce Gracie Jiu Jitsu —-technique, attitude, and way of life.
